The Glens Falls Country Club offers as comprehensive a golf program for women as you are likely to find anywhere. With the exception of Thursdays (Men’s Day from 12 pm to 4 pm) and scheduled tournaments, there are no restrictions regarding women’s play.
The Women’s Golf Association sponsors two leagues for weekly competitive play. These leagues offer women the opportunity to play in organized tournaments while enjoying a friendly and fun atmosphere. They provide the perfect opportunity for new and old members to meet, socialize and enjoy the game. The Nine Hole League plays on Tuesday morning. Play is from the red tees and alternates weekly between the front and back nine holes. The Eighteen Hole League competes on Wednesday from the gold tees. Most Wednesday events are 8:30 shotgun starts with some special events scheduled in the afternoon. A variety of formats and team compositions are used.
Also for the Ladies, there is an informal Tuesday Evening 9 Hole Golf Group. This is intended to be a more social golf group for players of all levels, including beginner golfers. Just show up any Tuesday between 4:15 pm -5:00 pm to play a leisurely round of golf. Afterwards, Ladies generally meet in the Grille Room for cocktails and many stay for dinner.
For additional opportunities to play, on any Sunday afternoon, you may join the Couples League. The Couples League plays eighteen holes and offers a casual but organized partners’ tournament with an optional group dinner following play.
